Tuesday Tease takes place at LUCID Jazz Lounge in the U District on the 3rd Tuesday of the month in April, June, August, October and December.

This month's cast features burlesque by Sailor St. Claire, Whisper de Corvo, and Persephone Illyri with vocals by Jen Nelson. Hosted by Ace Carter.

St. Valentine's Day Happy Ending!

Blue Moon is once again taking its finery out of the locked cabinet, lighting candles, and giving their stage over to a wondrous line-up of early swing gypsy jazzers Mouce Manouche, streetrat Sinatras Velveteen Lotharios, practicing organists The Dirty Church Ladies, and the pinch of Slap and Tickle.

If you're looking for dark laughs, you simply cannot do better than Doug Stanhope. Deadbeat Hero, the hour embedded above, pokes fun at killing babies, democracy, and terrorism. And other things I'd rather not have google search attach to my name while I'm looking for a job. Plus, it was recorded live here in Seattle, so there's a nice bit of hometown flavor there too. Hit play and listen.

READER: Houdini speaks

Houdini speaks:

In this recording from 1914, Harry Houdini talks about his Water Torture Cell trick.

The audio was recorded on an Edison wax cylinder; one of six used that day by Houdini and now the only known recordings of his voice to exist.
